Netflix’s Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa Defies The Odds
What lengths would you go to to provide a brighter future for your family? For Nepali mountaineer Lhakpa Sherpa, the answer is all the way to the top of Mount Everest. Netflix’s new documentary Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa, produced and edited by MakeMake creatives, follows this remarkable woman’s journey as she risks everything for the sake of her daughters on a record-breaking Mount Everest climb.
Sherpa has lived nothing less than an exceptional life, rising above obstacle after obstacle. Despite her circumstances and challenges, she has relentlessly persisted in her goals — in 2000, she became the first Nepali woman to summit and survive Mount Everest, and today she holds the record for most Everest summits by a woman at 10 climbs.
Many MakeMake creatives had their hand in this inspiring documentary, including Editors David Brodie, Inaya Yusuf, and Carlos Haynes.
