MakeMake Lends Creative Talents to 7 Super Bowl LIX Spots

As the Eagles and Chiefs faced off during Super Bowl LIX, we were excited to see not only the action of the game and the entertainment of the halftime show, but the talent and hard work of MakeMake creatives reflected in the ads. We were honored to have had a hand in creating seven spots that aired during the Super Bowl this year — check them out below.
Jordan “You Can’t Ban Greatness”
Aired: Pre-Game
For the 40th anniversary of one of the brand’s most iconic shoes, Nike’s ad asks: what if the Air Jordan never got off the ground due to arcane NBA rules in 1985? The spot was edited by RPS’ Lauren Dellara, with effects by a52 and Creative Director Jesse Monsour.
TurboTax “Now Taxes is Switching it Up”
Aired: Pregame
Two pregame spots for TurboTax featured effects by a52 and Creative Director Jesse Monsour and color by Primary and Colorist Jonny Thorpe. This spot, edited by RPS’ Damion Clayton, shows how the brand can help you save your money for what matters.
Turbo Tax “Now Taxes is No Sweat”
Aired: Pregame, Pre-Kick
In the other pregame spot for TurboTax, this time edited by RPS’ Jamie Foord and also with effects by a52 Creative Director Jesse Monsour and color by Primary and Colorist Jonny Thorpe, a woman hands off her tax prep to an expert so she can focus instead on hitting the pavement.
FanDuel “Recap”
Aired: Pre-Game / Last ad Break
In this spot edited by RPS’ Haines Hall, Football legends Peyton and Eli Manning attempt FanDuel's kick of destiny.
Hexclad “Unidentified Frying Object”
Aired: 1st Unscheduled Time Out
Hexclad’s spot features Gordon Ramsay and Pete Davidson in a previously confidential scene from the Area 51 test kitchen, with effects by a52 Creative Director Andy McKenna and VFX Supervisor Andy Wilkoff.
Hellman’s “When Sally Met Hellman’s”
Aired: 2nd Quarter
Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal show just what good mayo can do in this nostalgic callback to “When Harry Met Sally,” edited by RPS’ Adam Pertofsky.
TurboTax “Now Taxes Is So Sweet”
Aired: 2nd Quarter / 2 Min Warning
We got one more done for TurboTax — in this spot edited by Lauren Dellara, Issa Rae explains why getting a TurboTax Expert is like having your cake and eating it too.
