After this summer’s Matrix screening, MakeMake and Cosm are back, this time inviting audiences into a world of pure imagination. Their latest shared reality experience, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971), premieres November 21 as part of Cosm’s multi-title partnership with Warner Bros.
If you caught The Matrix, you know the magic: Cosm’s 12K+ LED dome technology transforms the environment around the original film, no headsets required. It’s cinema reimagined, combining theatrical storytelling with a planetarium-scale immersive twist.
“Willy Wonka has been a creative tentpole for us—a film that shaped our upbringing and expanded our sense of what’s possible when imagination leads,” says Little Cinema founder and CEO Jay Rinsky. “It’s an honor to expand the storytelling around the frame, enhancing its most pivotal moments in partnership with Cosm’s groundbreaking format, MakeMake’s visual effects wizardry, and Warner Bros.’ iconic legacy.”
MakeMake Creative Director Kirk Shintani adds, “The challenge in Wonka is to build on a shared creative language—and create something that honors and expands the world that first captivated audiences in 1971.”
